Supplies Needed for Lavender Lemon Bath Salts

Coarse salt (about 100g) (such as this one)

Lavender essential oil – 8 drops (such as this one)

Lemon essential oil – 8 drops (such as this one)

Jojoba oil – 10 drops (such as this one)

Fresh Lemon zest of 1 lemon, grated

Dried Lavender – 1 tablespoon (such as this)

A Note about using Essential Oils

Make sure that the essential oils that you are using in these bath salts are cosmetic grade. That means they have been tested to be used safely on your skin.

Most essential oils should state whether they are cosmetic grade.  If you are in doubt, ask an expert where you purchase your essential oils.  I always try to purchase organic essential oils wherever possible. I also try to purchase well known essential oils, that have been proven tried and tested for safety.

How to make Lavender & Lemon Bath Salts

Pour the coarse salt into a bowl.  Gradually stir in the lemon and lavender essential oils.   Put the drops of essential oil into the salt mixture one at a time, and stir together well. Finish by putting in the Jojoba oil.

Stir in the dried lavender, and the lemon zest at the very end.  Stir all together.

Place the mixture into glass jars. You can use any glass jars for this, decorating them to make them as special as possible. Although sometimes just a plain glass jar can still look wonderful.

Note: I usually like to let the mixture ‘dry’ a little before putting it into the glass jars, as the essential oils are of course wet and will make the entire mixture a little damp.

Label your jar, and keep it for your use, or gift it to somebody special!
