What you need to Make the DIY Citrus Cleaner
Pieces of peel of various citrus fruits, including lemons, limes, grapefruits, oranges, and tangerines
Spray bottle (like this one)
Large glass jar
How to make the Citrus All Purpose Cleaner
Collect together assorted dried citrus peels. Place all the pieces of peel into a large glass jar. Press all the pieces of peel down as firmly as possible, and compactly.
Fill the jar about half full with white vinegar. Press all the pieces of peel down as compactly as possible inside the white vinegar. You want to make sure that all the pieces of peel are covered with white vinegar, so they are soaking completely. Add as much white vinegar as you need to to make sure all the pieces of peel are covered well.
Screw the lid onto the jar and place the jar in a dark place for a couple of weeks to ‘brew.’ Check on the jar occasionally. If the pieces of peel are not covered, pour in some more white vinegar and push the pieces of citrus peel down more compactly. If the peel is not covered mold can easily form, so always make sure the peel is well covered with the vinegar. A great place to keep the solution is under your kitchen sink, or even in your pantry.
Once the mixture is ready, just strain it in a sieve, and remove the peel. Place the solution in spray bottles ready to use around your home, wherever and when you need to clean.
